## Sourcing We are committed to the responsible sourcing of all raw materials used in the production of Mulberry goods, coupled with an innovative and imaginative approach to introducing new, sustainable materials within our ranges.
### All our leathers are a by-product of food production
* All of the leathers used in our collections are a by-product of food production and a natural alternative to fossil fuel synthetics. * All leather is sourced to meet our high ethical standards, with most coming from within the EU. * We have been members of the Leather Working Group since 2012, an international body that promotes sustainable and environmental best-business practices within the leather industry. * Mulberry is also a member of the Animal Welfare Group (AWG), a subgroup of the Leather Working Group (LWG) whose principal objective is to provide education and information to its members on the salient aspects of livestock and animal welfare within the leather value chain.
### 100% of leather from gold, silver or bronze LWG accredited tanneries by AW22.
* In December 2019 we introduced the Portobello, our first 100% sustainable leather bag, crafted from heavy grain leather from a Leather Working Group gold standard tannery and using Epic EcoVerde thread, a recycled polyester fibre and recycled polished stainless steel hardware. * For AW20 76% of the leathers in our collection were sourced from tanneries with environmental accreditation and our Phase 1 target is to source 100% of our leather from gold, silver or bronze LWG accredited tanneries by AW22. * For SS20 48% of our range used leather and suede that is traceable to the country origin, and our Phase 1 target is to achieve 100% traceability by AW21.
### By AW20 ECONYL® will replace all virgin nylon in our bags and accessories
* For SS20 we introduced ECONYL®, a durable and lightweight regenerated nylon crafted from fishing nets and other salvaged waste, as part of a Camo Check men’s capsule collection. * In February 2020 we introduced a new M Collection range that is crafted from a jacquard that is comprised of ECONYL®. We also now source cotton through the Better Cotton Initiative. * By AW20 ECONYL® will replace all virgin nylon in our bags and accessories. * We are currently focused on enhancing the sustainability of our leather goods products as they make up the majority of our product offer, but will also be extending our focus to our full product range in the future. * Mulberry is committed to delivering on these targets whilst also ensuring we continue to offer excellent quality product and that our customer will not carry any additional costs for buying into products with enhanced sustainable materials.
