Craft
As the largest manufacturer of luxury leather goods in the United Kingdom, Mulberry embodies modern British craft.
The exceptional team of craftspeople based in our two carbon neutral Somerset factories develop and produce many of our iconic bags, but our wider network of partners in the UK, Europe, and Asia make our small leather goods, lifestyle pieces and non-leather products with just the same amount of skill and attention to detail.
We are committed to developing and growing the expertise and capacity we have established in the UK, and connecting this to a regenerative British supply chain.
We believe craftsmanship in all its forms is the foundation of a product that is Made to Last.
Progress
Since 2006, we have operated a flagship apprenticeship scheme in leather goods manufacturing in Somerset, supporting local communities and developing the next generation of craftspeople.
Our Tier 1 suppliers are signed up to and audited against our Global Sourcing Principles, which set out the requirements we need to conduct business with them.
All our suppliers complete an annual supplier questionnaire, informing us of their environmental, social and governance progress.
In 2023 we commissioned biodiversity baseline assessments of our two owned factory sites with the aim of protecting and enhancing the species richness of both plant and animal life. We have partnered with Somerset Wildlife Trust, whose mission is to restore, strengthen and connect habitats and green spaces on a landscape scale in Somerset, so nature can recover and thrive in the future.
At Mulberry we believe that transparency from 'farm to finished product’ is foundational to creating a regenerative business model. Acting on that belief, we are publishing a list of our tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers across the following product categories: Leather Goods, Soft Accessories, and Sunglasses.
